First group road ride

I joined a road ride today with 9 other hearty souls. Its really the first time I've ridden in a group on the road. I've done solo rides many times, but joining a group is a different deal entirely. The weather was not good, it was misting and foggy for most of the ride, but the temps were good and it really didn't factor in too much. It was pretty fun. The pace was manageable - and was less of an issue due to the mixed pace in the group - we had to wait at intersections pretty often. Road biking requires a lot more consistency than mountain biking. In mountain biking you definitely have to exert a lot more, but its for short periods of time, in road biking you are not pushing as hard, but its sustained pretty much for the whole ride. Good times.
